Craving something different? We recently launched an Italian inspired catering menu to shake up your meals. Ardesia (Slate in Italiano) offers our signature cafe-style breakfast, salads and sandwiches, with an Italian twist. From Cacio e Pepe Scrambled Eggs and Tuscan Avocado Toast topped with prosciutto to our mouthwatering Panini Spread and Caprese Skewers - we've got your covered with brand new dishes, done the Slate way.
FAQs
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
We recommend placing your order at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee your desired selections. However, we are happy to accommodate last minute requests. Our website allows you to order 12 hours in advance, if you are placing an order less than 12 hours in advance, please email us at catering@slatecafe.com.
When are catering deliveries available?
Everyday from 6am - 6pm. (Just ask if you need it earlier/later!)
Where do you deliver?
We deliver anywhere in Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens seven days a week. Please note there is a $50 delivery fee for locations south of Houston and a $75 fee for outer boroughs. Please allow for a 15 minute delivery window.
Can I pickup my catering order at one of the Slate locations?
Yes, catering orders can be picked up at our Midtown location. Please advise if you would prefer to pick up from a different location.
How many people can you cater for?
As little as 5, as much as 500!
Is there a minimum order spend for catering?
Catering orders have a $200 minimum subtotal for delivery. However, there is no minimum spend for pickup catering orders.
Can I order for individually plated options or do they only come platter style?
We have both individually plated and platter options available for catering orders.
What dietary restrictions can be accommodated for catering orders?
Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Nut Free, Soy Free.
What is your cancellation/alteration policy?
Catering orders must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to scheduled delivery or pick-up times to receive a refund. Otherwise, all sales are final. We will do our best to accommodate changes, but cannot guarantee if requested within 24 hours.
Can recurring catering orders be setup?
Yes, email catering@slatecafe.com and our team can help set this up.
Do catering orders include plates, utensils, etc?
Yes, indeed.
How are catering orders packaged?
All catering orders are packages in paper trays or paper bowls with plastic lids.
Will the delivery person help set up/unwrap my catering order when it's delivered?
Of course!
When do I pay?
Payment is due in full at the time of order. All orders are subject to a 12.5% administrative fee which covers delivery, setup, and disposables.
How do I pay for my catering order?
We accept all major credit cards.
Is there a recommended amount for gratuity?
This is at the customers' discretion, but most customers choose to add 18-20% gratuity onto their order.
Do I give gratuity to the delivery person or when I place my order?
Gratuity can be added when placing your catering order.
Do you offer tax exemption for tax exempt organizations?

What is Ardesia Kitchen?
Ardesia is a secondary catering menu recently introduced by Slate Cafe. We offer all of your cafe favorites, with an Italian twist. Looking for something new with a rustic flavor? Try out our delizioso breakfast options, signature paninis and so much more. We are happy to combine items from both menus for a unique and flavorful spread.
